Jon Kukuk, President

Jon is the former owner of Nestegg Marine in Marinette, Wisconsin, a key harbor along the Menominee River known for supporting both recreational and commercial vessels. Early in his career, Jon spent time in the shipbuilding industry, giving him firsthand experience with naval construction. His lifelong dedication to maritime service and support for the U.S. Navy community reflect his deep connection to the waterfront and shipbuilding heritage of Marinette. Jon and his wife live in Peshtigo and have two daughters and four grandchildren.

Dan Peterson, Vice-President

Dan is the retired President of The Stephenson National Bank & Trust, headquartered in Marinette, WI, and currently serves as Chairman of its Board. With a long and successful career in the banking industry, Dan also brought his leadership to the community as Chair of the USS Marinette Commissioning Committee, amongst many other local non-profit organizations. An avid sportsman, he enjoys the outdoors and time with family. Dan and his wife, Barb, live in Porterfield and are proud parents of two children and grandparents to seven grandchildren.

Jan Kust, Secretary

Jan is the Mayor's Assistant and Community Development Specialist for the City of Marinette. She plays a key role in supporting the mayor’s office and advancing local development efforts. Jan works closely with city leadership, businesses, and residents to foster economic growth and enhance community engagement. Her dedication to public service and passion for community improvement make her an essential part of Marinette’s progress. Jan and her husband have 2 children and enjoy outdoor activities.

Jennifer Short, Treasurer

Jenny has built a diverse career spanning the energy industry, tourism, and economic development, bringing a wealth of experience to each field. Deeply committed to her community, she has been actively involved in numerous local non-profit organizations. Jenny lives in Menominee and is the proud mother of three children. Her passion for the community is evident in all she does.

Kevin Osgood, Member

Kevin Osgood is the Executive Director of the Door County Maritime Museum and a U.S. Navy veteran. With a strong background in media and nonprofit leadership, he has been instrumental in expanding the museum’s exhibits, programs, and community outreach. Kevin is passionate about preserving Wisconsin’s maritime heritage and honoring its naval connections through education, storytelling, and public engagement. Kevin is the commander of US Coast Guard Auxilliary Division 47 in Green Bay. He and his wife live in Sturgeon Bay and enjoy traveling.
